Saturday was the annual “Nature Play Day” held by the Helen Schuler Nature Centre at Henderson Lake. What a great way to get out of the house all all while trying lots of new things!
It was so great to see so many people out and about, trying all the many different stations. Some including parkour, painting rocks, hammocks, kayaking, and the horses.
My personal favourite was the parkour station hosted by “Breathe Parkour Lethbridge”. Incase you don’t know what parkour is, it’s a sport where you move along a route with different sets of obstacles, achieved by running, jumping and climbing. I not only got to learn more about parkour, but I got to actually do it! I loved the whole set up they had, and I thought it was such a great way to get kids involved all while having a blast!
It was truly inspiring seeing the community come together, making this event so successful. B93.3 and Country 95.5 helped out by supplying healthy snacks for the kids, as well as the Lethbridge Developmental Assets Collaboration supplied delicious lemonade! Not to mention everyone who volunteered, and took charge of all the different stations!
The whole event was overall a success and I can’t wait to go again next year! A quote that sums up Saturday for me is,
“Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work” -Aristotle
I am so beyond grateful to be given the opportunity to compete in Miss Teenage Canada 2017 Pageant, this summer in Toronto! I love not only attending events, but really getting involved in doing the work. Since starting my journey towards the Miss Teenage Canada pageant, I have learnt so much, and been able to engage in my community. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store!
