Tired, yes. Excited, yes. Nervous, you bet! I arrived around 2 o’clock in the afternoon at the Pierson Toronto airport, with a group of my lovely Alberta pageant sisters. From there we were picked up, and headed to the hotel! We arrived at the hotel, where we then met our roommates! We unpacked and prepared for the 2017 Search for Miss Teenage Canada – Sponsor Party happened in the Meeting Room at the Edward Village Hotel in Toronto Ontario at approx 5:30 on Monday 07 Aug 2017.
Once my roommate and I got down there, we were seated in rows. After some brief introductions and some speeches by Michelle and Rob, we were set loose to venture to the assembly of sponsor tables.
It was amazing too see all the tables, and the support these companies gave.
Our Alberta Sashes were all laid out on display to be claimed, as well the Miss Teenage Canada pins! Each contestant received a number, in which we will compete in ordered by province, my number is #10! This was really the moment that everything got real, it wasn’t until then that the fact that I was finally at nationals really sat in. After months of hard work and preparation it’s finally here!
Our shoes from Nine West were on display and we were encouraged to try on the shoes and get our shoe sizes recorded. We get the actual shoes later tonight before preliminaries! I’m so excited to wear the shoes, they not only are really cute, they are also something that I’ll be able to wear outside of nationals! So I’m really excited!
Miss Teenage Canada Sponsors are mostly small to medium size business entrepreneurs who see value in supporting this segment of society. For one reason or another this pageant is a perfect partner for each of their enterprises.
Rob himself was running the Archer Dental booth and giving away dental supplies, toothbrushes and toothpaste from the famous Toronto dentist Dr Natalie Archer, a local business leader who champions women in the sciences, and who has supported the pageant for many years.Lilly Liao from Street Chic fashion magazine was there. Lily’s team published over thirty fashion blogs, submitted by over half of the Miss Teenage Canada delegates, just last week! If I had one word of advice for Lily regarding her magazine I would suggest, to post more on social media accounts where more people will learn about it. Other than that I thought she created an amazing magazine, and a fabulous place to showcase fashion.
My magazine article was “Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful, in Lethbridge Alberta”

Lily gave everyone a nice new pair of earrings and they were soooo cute! I got little heart with little stones at the top of the heart!
Dahlia DeSouza from UptotheTime Watches was present and on her table was a display of attractive time pieces from their online catalog. In addition to receiving a necklace, we were asked to select the watch we would pick if we WON the Miss Teenage Canada title next Sunday night. So we are really excited to see who is our next Miss Teenage Canada!
Judy a music teacher at the Wandering Minstrel Music School in Mississauga was there running an Instagram #MTCSongSolo challenge.
Delegates were invited to select one of five instruments and record a musical performance on Instagram using the #songselfie hashtag. The prize for the video with the most likes at the end of the week, and the winner will WIN a new cordless microphone!
Hashtagio social media aggregator was set up to show the Instagram feed for #MTC2017. Just like last year, all the best shots are being collected and displayed on the website in a special Go Behind the Scenes via Instagram page. So I mean for me I love Instagram so I’ll be posting lots with this hashtag, so check it out!!
This service is co-sponsored by Standard Telecom and all week long we are encouraged to use our cell phones and mobile devices to post our best moments using that hashtag.

And there was food! Man probably a main highlight of the night! I mean after all, who doesn’t love food?! It was so funny because I was worried that at nationals no one would eat, I was very wrong. We eat so much, but we also take care of our bodies while doing it. So far the food has been amazing!
And there was cake! The cake was so pretty, and delicious! It was hilarious becaus there was no forks, so I walked into the room and all these girls are eating with their hands, probably one of the funniest sites I’ve ever seen. We did get forks, but we were all so excited we didn’t want to wait!
And there was a media wall, that had “Miss Teenage Canada” logo printed all over it, where we took lots and lots of pictures! I mean after all there was 60 girls there, you bet we took lots of pictures!
Here are Darren Lee’s Pictures ,
Until next time…
